Is my friend or family member in custody at this jail?

Are you not sure where your friend or family member is in custody? You can use the Placer County Sheriff's Public Inmate Search to look for them using their name. Whether they are being housed in the Auburn Jail versus the Roseville Jail is denoted by the housing locations AJ (Auburn Jail) or SPJ (South Placer Jail). One of our bail agents would also be happy to help you search for your loved one in custody.

How does a property release work?

At the Roseville Jail, a property release can be performed in order to get access to property that your loved one, who is in jail, has released for you to obtain. This is done by following these steps:

  1. Ask the inmate to request of the sergeant to release property in the jails possession such as a wallet or credit card to a designated friend or family member.
  2. Visit the booking department at the jail during regular hours.
  3. Complete the requisite property release forms provided by the officer.
  4. Present ID to the officer verifying your authorized to receive the released property.

Additional information can be found HERE on the Placer County Sheriff's website.

Where are inmates released at the Roseville Jail?

Once an inmate has been released from the Roseville Jail, they will walk right out the front entrance of the jail. There is ample parking to allow for you to wait in your car. Transportation can also be arranged with a taxi or ride-share service but we recommend waiting until after they have been released.

Alternatively, there is a bus stop nearby directly in front of the Courthouse.
