Can I get property released?
At the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility, a property release may be arranged by having the arrestee make a request of the on-duty sergeant or any other officer in charge of booking at the time. You will need to fill out appropriate forms and present ID in order to complete the property release.
We highly recommend contacting the jail before hand to understand any other steps or protocols required.
Where are inmates released from at the Nevada City Jail?
Generally, once an inmate is released, they will walk out the rear entrance of the Sheriff's department. The door inmates are released from can be difficult for some to find as it is around the backside of the building and not by the parking area located in front.
It may be difficult to arrange for transportation from this location via a taxi or ride-share service due to the remote nature of the community. Additionally, inmates generally will not be released after dark without a ride ready for them.
Alternatively, there is a bus service in Nevada City with connections to neighboring communities with the closest stop to the jail HERE at the nearby Nevada County Government Center. The bus does not run at night, however.
Visitation at Nevada City Jail?
